Blades of grass inspire advance in Organic solar cells

At the University of Massachusetts Amherst a research team led by Alejandro Briseno have looking into how grass absorbs solar energy. Briseno team has been developing an organic molecule that can replicate how grass absorbs the solar energy. Briseno team is actually grow these organic molecule in hopes to use its solar absorbing abilities. The UMass team has been using the vertical structure below to solve their architecture issues. The team is making some very good progress towards developing the organic molecule and they continuing to make strides in this field.
