For the following rxn:

For the first step, the double bond is broken by HCl and replaced with 2 sigma bonds, one remains between the carbons, and another is formed with the hydrogen from HCl.
 This leaves an organic intermediate of CH3CH2CCH3CH3 and an inorganic intermediate of anionic Cl. The anionic Cl then bonds to the positive charge on carbon.
