Sapling Problem, Chapter 6, #1

Chapter 6 is the alkene reactions dealing with the different reagents. From number 1 on the Sapling homework problem, you were suppose to do a mechanism of H - Br reacting with this alkene.

In the first step of the alkene reaction of H - Br, one of the bonds from the double bonded carbon attack the hydrogen atom.

In the second step, the hydrogen was added to the carbon with the most hydrogens following Markovnikov's rule. The most stable carbocation is formed, then the bromine ion which acts as a nucleophile, attacks the carbocation, which is the electrophile.

In the third step, you get your final product!
