Discodermolide
According to researchers, "Discodermolide, more specifically referred to as (+)-discodermolide, is a microtubule-stabilizing drug which is found naturally in the Caribbean sponge Discodermia dissolute." It has proved to be able to inhibit tumor cell growth which has made it become increasingly popular in medicine. It has a total of 13 chiral centers. I am going to assign stereochemistry to the first two starting with C adjacent to the C=O with a 1 under it. The C adjacent to that one has a stereochemistry of R which means it rotates clockwise. The carbon adjacent to that one with the OH functional group attached has a stereochemistry of S which means it rotates counterclockwise.
