Glutathione is an endorphin produced by the liver, naturally.
It is used as a detoxifier and is currently being created in labs to be taken as an antioxidant supplement. Research is being done on this compound to see if there is a way to use it to our advantage. Glutathione has been claimed as a "miracle" antioxidant because it supposedly fights aging and destroys free radicals in the body that can cause Alzheimer's, cancer and heart disease.
Scientists are also studying whether or not low levels of this compound are to blame for all the problems so many middle aged people have with these diseases because their levels of this endorphin plummet after about age 40.
