Isoleucine or 2-amino-3-methylpentanoic is a VERY important amino acid. It helps increase the endurance in our muscles. It also helps to heal the muscle tissue Since it helps our muscle tissue it is essential to humans, but sadly we cannot synthesize it ourselves so we have to ingest it. Isoleucine can be found in so many tasty foods:
eggs
soy protein
turkey
chicken
fish
CHEESE!
Isoleucine is a hydrophobic amino acid and contains 2 chiral centers. It has four different steroisomers. Two of which are diastereomers. So if I learned anything from researching isoleucine it is to eat more cheese.
