Threonine

Threonine is a very important and essential amino acid that promotes the natural growth of our bodies and helps maintain the normal protein balance within our body. It supports our cardiovascular, liver, immune system, and central nervous system health.

Threonine aids in the production of anitbodies in to fight disease and help strengthen our immune systems. It can also help fight depression by helping the central nervous system. Threonine is also necessary for the production of collagen, which is also an important protein that our bodies need. Collagen helps to keep our body and heart strong and elastic. Threonine is also essential in wound healing and to help the body recover from injury. Threonine helps to build strong bones to resist bone injury.

As you can see in the photo above, threonine has two chiral centers, with the left having a stereochemistry of S and the right having a stereochemistry of R.
