Favorite Organic Molecule

As a predominately healthy eater, I try to include fruit in my diet as much as possible. This being said, my favorite organic molecule is citric acid. Citric acid is not only found in fruits and vegetables, but it is also commonly used in the production of carbonated drinks.to add a sour taste, and additionally it plays an important role for metabolism in most living things. However, it tends to be the most widely found in citrus bases fruits such as oranges, limes, and lemons. This weak organic acid was first isolated in 1784 by Swedish chemist Carl Wilhelm Scheele, who was responsible for crystallizing it from lemon juice. Citric acid has always been mostly used for food purposes, but now in some circumstances it is used for environmentally friendly cleaning products because it has the ability to break down tough grease and oil.
