Acetone is a flammable molecule that can form naturally in plants, trees, volcanic gases, forest fires, vehicle exhaust and even in the metabolic breakdown of body fat. Industrial process contribute to the atmospheres level of acetone rather than any other natural processes. It is considered a very volatile organic compound. It's main use is to act as an important solvent. One of which is a very well known substance as I previously mentioned "nail polish remover".
Properties of Acetone include being colorless, with a pretty distinct odor. Acetone is also a very flammable substance. It may be used to dissolve other chemical substances and easily mixes with water, alcohol, dimethylfromamide, chloroform, ether, and many oils.

I find it interesting that while acetone is largely used for household cosmetics, it is in fact very volatile and flammable. Here is something we give to children as a manicure accessory, yet it is a very strong solvent.
