There is such a thing as an Angelic Acid...

Angelic Acids C₅H₈O₂ 

There are two reasons why I like this compound. The most obvious reason is due the the fact my name is Angella; which automatically made me think this compound was cool. Secondly, I like how Angelic Acid's name seems to contradict itself. For me I always associated "acid" with" bad". In fact most of the acids I've encountered have always been tagged with a warning. Angelic Acids, however, seemed to dispute that idea.  Found in roots of  many Apiaceae plants, Angelic acid is a monocarboxylic unsaturated acid, though it was discovered in the roots of an Angelica plant by Ludwig Buchner in 1842 originally. 

The esters of Angelic Acids can be used to create medicines to relieve pain or other other things like sedatives.
